John Williams will score the new 'Star Wars'

Composer John Williams, who wrote the scores for the first six Star Wars movies, will return for J.J. Abrams's Episode VII, LucasFilm's Kathleen Kennedy announced on Saturday. "Of course, I haven't seen the script," said Williams in a video posted to the Star Wars website. "The story is still unknown to me, the new story. But I can't imagine that there will not be some references to the existing stories that we know that would necessitate, and make appropriate, the use of some of the earlier themes." If he's wrong about that, then they should all probably throw in the towel now.

THERE WILL BE MORE ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT!

Creator Mitch Hurwitz confirmed that there will indeed be new episodes of Arrested Development on Netflix. Whether it's a movie or another season remains to be seen, but it won't be like the most recent revival of the show. Hurwitz wants everyone together at once, which sounds like a pretty good idea if you ask me.

Bad News: Only 2 seasons of 'Always Sunny' left!

That's right: in 2014, after 10 seasons, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia will come to an end. Like the title says, this is bad news, but at least the show will go out on top and not overstay its welcome. This is all according to a recent Rolling Stone interview with Glenn Howerton:

Are you really quitting after ten seasons?
"Yes. There’s a certain point where you wear out your welcome and we don’t want to do that. We want to leave them wanting more. We spend a lot of time trying to find new lines to cross. We’re not trying to offend people…but we’re looking to surprise them. I think we’re proud of what we’ve done so far, so it’s time to stop. I’m sure there are already a few people who are like ‘Jesus Christ is that show still on? Go away.’”

Only 2 more seasons left! I can't believe it!

Jim Carrey boards an Iowa high school baseball team's bus

The following picture is another example as to why I think Jim Carrey will be the next Bill Murray. Carrey was spotted at an Iowa Burger King by a high school baseball team, and he later followed them back to their bus to take a picture with them:

Super Batman?

There will be a Superman/Batman crossover movie in 2016, which will also serve as the "Man of Steel" sequel. This has the potential to be very awesome indeed. Don't believe me? Check the Internet!

The Walking Dead Season 4 Trailer

I'm so glad I got into this show, since I'm now all caught up and quite excited for the new season. Judging by this trailer, it will be a good one. The Walking Dead returns October 13th on AMC, and the only downside is that I now have to wait a few months after binge watching the first 3 seasons. I guess I can't complain too much though, since I thought season 2 was great despite most fans finding it boring. Bring on season 4, now with another cast member from The Wire.

The latest Batman:Arkham Origins assassin

I haven't posted much, if anything, about the latest Batman game "Arkham Origins" but I will now. Origins is a prequel to Asylum and City, taking place on Christmas Eve. There will be 8 assassins sent to kill Batman in the game, but only 4 of them have been revealed so far. Copperhead is the latest villain to make the cut, and she joins Deathstroke, Deadshot, and Bane:

Bill Hader will now be a full-time writer on 'South Park'

South Park has always been Matt Stone and Trey Parker's baby, but now they are bringing another big name into the writer's room full-time: Bill Hader. As seen in the recent documentary "6 Days to Air" Hader has already been in the writer's room and has also attended several writer's retreats with Matt, Trey, and the rest of the crew. He seems to gel well with the other writers and his own brand of humor should be a welcomed addition. It'll be interesting to see an episode penned entirely by Hader, if it even happens: Matt Stone and (especially) Trey Parker have been the driving force behind every episode thus far. He'll start writing for the upcoming 17th (!) season premiering September 25th!

A fitting license plate

So earlier today I was driving behind this car for a few miles, which was going a good 10 miles per hour under the speed limit (see my previous post for a rant on this). Anyway, we came to a red light and all my frustration was relieved when I saw this:

"I love driving slow"
I mean, at least they are aware of their awful driving! Right?

My one gripe about 'The Walking Dead'

(Aside from the restrictions due to being on cable) my only gripe with AMC's The Walking Dead is the lack of blood splatter. You see blood, and hear it splatter, but the group's faces never get even a drop of blood splattered on them. It's ridiculous! Just one splatter is all I ask for.

Just started marathon watching the series, in case you didn't know.

4 July 2013

If we never declared our independence, that's how today's date would be written. Also, there would be no reason to celebrate today! That is all.
