It's now been scrapped, but Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Back to the Future) was in line to direct a remake of the classic Beatles film
Yellow Submarine. I have no doubt that Zemeckis would have done a good job, but I do question whether the film needed to be remade in the first place. Basically, I'm ok with finding out this isn't happening. Even Zemeckis himself said
"...it’s probably better not to be remade — you’re always behind the eight-ball when do you a remake."
