ECTO COOLER IS COMING BACK!

Call me nostalgic, but I had to break my non-posting slump for this.



Hi-C is bringing back Ecto Cooler, the amazing Ghostbusters themed citrus flavored/green colored drink. It last debuted in 1987 and was discontinued in 2001; since then it has seen many people attempting to replicate the elixir (pretty sure I've posted a recipe on here).

It will come back on May 30th to promote the new Ghostbusters movie, and you can follow the action at Ecto.cool before it is released. Apparently the cans will be similar to Coors Light's blue Rocky Mountains, and slime will turn green when cold.

Harold Ramis (Egon from 'Ghostbusters') dead at 69

Harold Ramis was one of Hollywood’s most successful comedy filmmakers when he moved his family from Los Angeles back to the Chicago area in 1996. His career was still thriving, with "Groundhog Day" acquiring almost instant classic status upon its 1993 release and 1984's "Ghostbusters" ranking among the highest-grossing comedies of all time, but the writer-director wanted to return to the city where he’d launched his career as a Second City performer.

"There's a pride in what I do that other people share because I'm local, which in L.A. is meaningless; no one's local," Ramis said upon the launch of the first movie he directed after his move, the 1999 mobster-in-therapy comedy "Analyze This," another hit. "It's a good thing. I feel like I represent the city in a certain way."

Ramis, a longtime North Shore resident, was surrounded by family when he died at 12:53 a.m. from complications of autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, a rare disease that involves swelling of the blood vessels, his wife Erica Mann Ramis said. He was 69.

Ramis' serious health struggles began in May 2010 with an infection that led to complications related to the autoimmune disease, his wife said. Ramis had to relearn to walk but suffered a relapse of the vasculitis in late 2011, said Laurel Ward, vice president of development at Ramis' Ocean Pictures production company.

They were made by Alex Jones, who studied both Ghostbusters films, The Real Ghostbusters, and Ghostbusters: The Video Game before starting the 2 month build. Super Mario Busters

Kinda surprised there hadn't been a Ghostbusters/Super Mario Brothers mash-up before, but now there is! It's a pretty good video that loosely follows the plot of the first film, but there's no denying it is extremely well done. Enjoy:

Why the Ghostbusters are Secretly the Bad Guys

Happy Halloween everybody! If you're too old to trick or treat like me, the holiday doesn't mean too much anymore. It's just another excuse to throw a party, and probably the only valid reason to dress up in a costume in public. Anyway, enjoy the night!

Keeping with the Halloween theme, Cracked asks if the Ghostbusters are really the bad guys... take a second to think about it. What do they do with all those ghosts? According to the animated series, they basically banish them all to "Ghost Hell" regardless of degree of haunting. It would be like a mass murderer getting the same punishment as a trespasser! Ghostbusters 3 delayed... again

Yep, not much else to say. Ghostbusters 3 will now begin shooting next fall at the earliest, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Hopefully this can give more time to entice Bill Murray? We'll see. (via)

Ghostbusters 3 to film next year

My take on what the poster should be!

Still Murray-less unfortunately, but Ghostbusters 3 will begin filming next summer according to director Ivan Reitman. It's getting closer and closer to actually happening, but it still doesn't feel real yet.
