Like, now.
He was just released by the Houston Texans today, and the Eagles are in need of a safety after Earl Wolff went down with an injury in last week's win at Green Bay. Ed Reed is experienced, and absolutely reminds me of Brian Dawkins in not only his playing style, but his leadership. He may not be playing great this year and was released because of negative comments, but his presence certainly won't hurt the suddenly improved defense. The Birds may have signed someone else today (Jack of all trades Brad Smith) but they need to find the funds to secure Ed Reed. He would no doubt be welcomed with open arms. Pull the trigger, Howie Roseman!
And I'm not the only one that agrees.....

Congrats, Texans!
The Houston Texans, temporarily my favorite team since the Eagles SUCK, clinched their 2nd consecutive playoff berth today with a 24-10 win over the Tennessee Titans. The win was the team's 11th of the season (11-1) and is already a franchise best mark with 4 games left to play. With a Indianapolis Colts loss or a Houston win next week, the Texans will clinch the AFC South for the 2nd consecutive year; they also have a great chance for a first round bye and the #1 seed throughout the playoffs.
Let's go Texans!

Surprise NFL stat of the season so far
Just found out, thanks to the info button from Comcast, that the Texans and Ravens are the ONLY two teams with winning records in the AFC; the NFC has 7. Both at 5-1, the teams are playing each other right now, with Houston easily handling Baltimore.

And I don't think I've said it publicly, but let me go on record and say that the Houston Texans are my second favorite team, aside from the Eagles of course.

Texans win first ever playoff game, have best NFL playoff winning percentage
Sure, they're only 1 for 1, but it's good for a 1.000 winning percentage. Despite being forced to start their third-string quarterback, the Texans (backed by great defense) played well enough to easily beat the Bengals 31-10. Congrats to my second favorite team, and good luck next week against the Ravens!

The Texans are playoff bound!
With their impressive 20-19 comeback win over the Bengals today, the Texans clinched the AFC South title (and the first playoff berth in team history) and improved to 10-3. Congrats to the Texans, and here's hoping they can get healthy and make a run in the post-season, or even a first round bye. At least one of my favorite teams will play more than 16 games this year!
