Congrats to the 76ers!

I don't post about/follow the 76ers much, but regardless of that a big congratulations go out to the team for upsetting the top seeded Chicago Bulls in the first round! It was only the fifth time in NBA history that an 8 seed upset a 1 seed (though the Bulls did have 2 star players out for most of the series). Too bad they're playing the Heat next round... I'm not liking their chances.

EDIT: As pointed out by my friend Gregg, the NBA playoffs use a bracket system for the playoffs unlike all the other sports, so the Sixers will be playing the Boston Celtics in the second round of the playoffs. Much better draw for them, so good luck!

A few bits of news...

Joe Frazier, boxing legend and Philly hero, is knocked out by cancer at the age of 67.

The NBA players refused the latest (and last?) deal by the owners.  The 2011-2012 season is in serious jeopardy.

Conrad Murray found guilty for the involuntary manslaughter charge in the death of Michael Jackson, placed on suicide watch.

Lindsay Lohan will no longer be posing full-frontal for Playboy.  Thank God.
