The 2011 Phillies are in the top 1% of all time MLB teams

Yep, this year's Philadelphia Phillies team, barring an impossible losing streak to end the season, will be in the top 1% of all MLB teams of all time.  That's from 1993 til now, and includes over 2,200 teams; the Phillies will be the 24th "Super Team".  They are heavily favored to not only return to the World Series for the 3rd time in 4 years, but to outright win it.  In doing so, they would surely be considered for the title of top team of all time.  I cannot wait until October!

Emotional Stress?

Ok, I'll come right out and say it: Derek Jeter is a pussy.  He opted NOT to play in tonights MLB All-Star Game, due to emotional (and physical, somehow) stress due to pursuing his 3,000th hit.  Don't get me wrong that's a tremendous accomplishment, but for a veteran player like Jeter the 3,000th hit should be no different from any other. Hell, he hit a homerun for the milestone hit, and had 4 others in the same game.  Where was all this stress during that game?  If you don't want to play, don't play.  But don't come out and give some bullshit excuse like "stress".  You play the game for a living, any stress you have has been present since you started playing.  End rant.

Even after that rant, I'm glad to see him not playing simply because it gives the National League a better chance to win.  With the way the Phillies are playing, home-field advantage in the World Series could be tremendous.
