Papelbon is now a Phillie
The Phillies have continued their recent trend of making huge signings in the off-season, this time by adding All-Star closer Jonathan Papelbon. Pending a physical, he will receive a 4 year, $50 million contract (making it the largest contract for a closer in MLB history). After using 4 pitchers as closers last season, there is no doubt who will take that spot for this upcoming season. Where does this leave Ryan Madson? Time will tell.
