Netflix is increasing their price, but only if you haven't subscribed yet

From Vulture:
Netflix will be raising prices for its streaming services for new members, the company announced today in its quarterly letter to shareholders. Existing Netflix subscribers would continue to pay the same amount they're currently paying for "a generous time period," with new subscribers paying a slightly higher rate. Netflix recently raised its prices in Ireland, from €6.99 to €7.99, with existing subscribers getting the lower rate for an additional two years. "Our current view is to do a one or two dollar increase, depending on the country, later this quarter for new members only," the company said.

Did you say Pizza Cake?

Behold...

It's part of a Canadian pizza chain's "Pizza Game Changers" promotion in which you can vote on their latest innovations, where the winning creation will actually be made. Was anyone asking for a 'Mrs. Doubtfire' sequel?

From Vulture:
In news that has hit us with the force of a run-by fruiting, The Hollywood Reporter announced this evening that a Mrs. Doubtfire sequel is finally in the offing. The reboot would see Robin Williams reuniting with director Chris Columbus, with Elf scribe David Berenbaum attached to write. A sequel has been in the works for years, but only became active again early this year with Berenbaum's involvement. THR reports that "Williams and Columbus are attached and hopeful." We're hopeful too! Along with Dumb and Dumber To, this would mark the second beloved early-nineties comedy classic to get the long-awaited reboot treatment. We think we speak for everyone when we say: don't screw this up, poppets.

Vince Gilligan on the ending of 'Breaking Bad'

Vince Gilligan recently did an interview with Entertainment Weekly, in which they discussed the ending of the superb Breaking Bad. Much was said, including that there was a possible ending in which EVERYONE died. Could have been interesting, but the way they ended it was perfect. Read the full interview here!

Confirmed: Stephen Colbert to take over The Late Show

The report that I posted about earlier in the week has turned out to be true. Stephen Colbert will replace David Letterman on The Late Show sometime in 2015. Congrats!

From The Wrap:
The “Colbert Report” host signs a five-year deal with CBS, where he will take over late night gig in 2015
Stephen Colbert will take over as the new host of “Late Show,” the network said Thursday.
The comedian and political satirist will take on his new duties after David Letterman retires next year. His hire injects a younger and edgier quality into the show, at a time when late night rivals such as NBC's Jimmy Fallon and ABC's Jimmy Kimmel are actively courting the YouTube and social media set.
“I'm thrilled and grateful that CBS chose me,” Colbert said in a statement. “Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go grind a gap in my front teeth.”
Colbert inked a five-year deal with CBS, according to the network. Specific creative elements, as well as the producers and the location for the Colbert-hosted ”Late Show,” have yet to be determined and will be announced at a later date, CBS said.

March Madness Bracket Bullshit

So earlier I posted my NCAA March Madness bracket, for which I used the differential between PPG and opponent's PPG to make all my picks. This did not work out, unfortunately.

However, I also made another bracket for the hell of it, in which all of my picks were randomly picked by a computer. The winner? UCONN. MOTHER F*CKING UCONN. So after actually spending time to pick all of the games, I did worse than a COMPLETELY RANDOM brackets. I wound up finishing 867th out of all of CBS' entries this year, which was well over a million.

In conclusion based on this highly scientific study, I declare March Madness brackets bullshit. It clearly doesn't matter what teams you pick, because you will never win. Sorry!

Colbert to replace Letterman?

From Vulture:
The ink has barely dried on David Letterman's retirement announcement, but there appears to be a front-runner for his replacement. Mashable reports Stephen Colbert is CBS's top choice for the job and that Colbert is interested. (Nikki Finke also tweeted as much yesterday.) Mashable's Josh Dickey writes that the network first approached Colbert, among others (including Jon Stewart), when Letterman began considering the timing of his retirement, though he notes it's still early and nothing is close to being formalized. CBS told Mashable they would not comment "on any rumors or speculation about succession."

Bryan Cranston's writing a 'Breaking Bad' memoir

From Vulture:
According to the New York Times, Bryan Cranston will be penning a memoir about his time on Breaking Bad. In his words: "[I'll] tell the stories of my life and reveal the secrets and lies that I lived with for six years shootingBreaking Bad." The book will be published by Simon & Schuster imprint Scribner and released in the fall of next year. Just make sure you inscribe the copy you give to friends and family with: "To my other favorite W.W. It's an honour working with you. Fondly G.B."

Watch the first 7 minutes of the new 'Fargo' TV series

I honestly haven't been this excited about a new TV series since.... you know, I actually don't get excited for new series much at all! I usually hear about them from a friend or read about them on the internet; after that I play catch up and usually pick up the series around season 2 or 3. I'd say the only time I watched a series from episode 1 was the new Arrested Development season on Netflix, but that wasn't even a new series (more of a reboot if anything). Anyway, Fargo on FX will likely be a series I watch from the beginning considering everything I've seen thus far looks great. Watch the first 7 minutes below and judge for yourself:

Details on the now "official" Walking Dead spinoff

I first posted about the spinoff of The Walking Dead back in September, and more details are finally emerging from Robert Kirman. See the highlights below, and read about more here.
  • The spinoff will be set in the same world as “The Walking Dead,” but won’t include any of the characters from the show or the comics.
  • The location won’t be in Georgia.
  • There’s lots of possibilities for the plot in the spinoff.
  • Dave Erickson, who worked as producer and writer on AMC’s “Low Winter Sun” (which was recently canceled), and who wrote 17 episodes of FX Network’s “Sons of Anarchy,” was recently announced as being an executive producer and writer for the spinoff.
  • Apart from being set in the same world as The Walking Dead there’s not much to go on so far in regards to plot, and no cast members have been announced or even rumored.
  • The originally announced release date was going to be sometime in 2015, but Uproxx claims: “That’s not necessarily the case, anymore.”
